Continental has named Ismail Dagli as head of its Autonomous Mobility enterprise space, changing Frank Petznick, who will go away the corporate.
Dagli, 48, at present leads Continental’s Smart Mobility enterprise, which oversees mobility providers, fleet operators and industrial car producers. He begins in his new place Oct. 1.
The provider introduced the creation of the Autonomous Mobility enterprise space in 2021 as a part of a reorganization of its mobility companies. Petznick, who had lead ADAS (superior driver help techniques) providers at Continental since 2020, was named to guide it. The new unit began operations on Jan. 1, 2022.
At the time, Petznick mentioned the objective was to permit the Autonomous Mobility unit function semi-autonomously from the remainder of Continental, in an effort to maneuver quicker and encourage partnerships with smaller firms.
Dagli, a pc scientist whose doctoral research centered on synthetic intelligence in automated driving, began his profession in 2005 as an engineer at Daimler. He moved to Bosch in 2008, holding administration positions in Germany and the U.S. Dagli joined Continental in 2020 as head of R&D within the ADAS enterprise unit. He was named head of the Smart Mobility enterprise space in 2022.
Philipp von Hirschheydt, a member of Continental’s govt board and head of the automotive group sector, mentioned in a information launch that Dagli “will forge ahead with the partner-focused business strategy of our Autonomous Mobility business area with the aim of strengthening and expanding its market position technologically and commercially.”
Continental ranks No. 9 on the Automotive News Europe record of prime 100 international suppliers, with gross sales to automotive firms of $25.4 billion in 2022.
