A North Carolina Volkswagen dealership publicly apologized after oil change reminder stickers positioned on 11 clients’ automobiles included a racial slur.
The retailer, Leith Volkswagen of Raleigh, stated it discovered that the message was added by a youngster who entered the enterprise after hours with a third-party cleansing crew and tampered with the sticker-printing machine.
The dealership, in an announcement to Automotive News, stated it fired the cleansing firm and that officers personally contacted the 11 clients inside 48 hours to apologize.
“We have taken internal steps to ensure this cannot happen again,” the shop stated. “We are deeply sorry that this incident occurred.”
Leith Volkswagen staff did not discover the wording on the stickers had been modified once they positioned them within the nook of consumers’ windshields after service appointments. The stickers learn “We Thank You for Your Business!” adopted by the racial slur.
The dealership posted an apology on Facebook.

One buyer who acquired an offensive sticker on his 2017 Passat stated the incident makes him hesitant to return to the dealership sooner or later.
