Tata Motors is gearing up to shake up the Indian SUV market by launching a CNG variant of its popular SUV, Tata Nexon, just in time for the festive season. This move is expected to further strengthen Tata’s position in the market and challenge competitors like Maruti, Mahindra, and Toyota, who primarily offer vehicles in petrol and diesel variants.

Tata Nexon: A Game-Changer in Safety and Versatility

Tata Nexon has already made its mark as the first SUV in India to receive a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests for both adult and child safety. Numerous videos on social media highlight Nexon’s robustness, showcasing how it remains largely unaffected even in severe collisions, making it one of the safest choices for Indian consumers.

    Nexon CNG: What to Expect

The upcoming Tata Nexon CNG variant was first showcased at the India Mobility Expo earlier this year. The company has hinted that, like the Punch CNG, the Nexon CNG will feature dual CNG cylinders, ensuring that customers do not have to compromise on boot space. While the model displayed at the expo came with a 5-speed manual gearbox, recent leaks suggest that Tata might also offer an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option, providing more choices for consumers.

    Power-Packed Performance with Safety Features

The Tata Nexon CNG is expected to be powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine, making it the first CNG SUV in India to feature a turbocharged engine. Tata Motors is known for prioritizing safety across all its vehicles, and the Nexon CNG will be no exception. It will retain the high safety standards of its petrol and diesel counterparts, offering features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, and of course, its 5-star safety rating.

A New Milestone for Tata Motors

With the launch of the Nexon CNG, Tata Motors will make history as the first automaker in India to offer an SUV with petrol, diesel, electric, and CNG variants. This strategic move is expected to draw significant attention, especially from consumers looking for a versatile and safe SUV with lower running costs.
